Offered for sale is the Mission to Mars, reference SO33R100 — one of the original eleven MoonSwatches from the March 2022 launch and, for many collectors, the pick of the entire range. It is a deliberate, detail-for-detail tribute to the legendary 1969 Omega Speedmaster “Alaska Project” — the white-dialled prototype Omega developed for NASA with its red thermal outer case, examples of which are among the most coveted Speedmasters ever made.

The watch

A 42 mm chronograph in bright red Bioceramic with a crisp white dial — the Alaska Project colourway exactly. The tribute runs deeper than colour: Mars carries the Alaska Project’s distinctive rocket-shaped “spacecraft” chronograph hands, and it is the only MoonSwatch with luminous chronograph hands. The white Velcro strap with black and red text and a red loop echoes the strap Omega supplied with the original prototype.

Details collectors look for: the Mars graphic on the battery cover, the Swatch “S” laser-etched into the underside of the crystal (an authenticity feature on every genuine MoonSwatch), and the dual-signed push-pull crown.

Condition — please read

Honest description, as watch buyers rightly expect. This watch is pre-owned and lightly worn:

• Crystal: light surface scratches visible on close inspection / at an angle to the light — consistent with careful use. Nothing deep, no chips or cracks. Please study the photos, which form part of the description.
• Strap: original white Velcro strap with red loop is fully functional but shows some yellowing / discolouration to the white fabric alongside light wear — a well-known trait of the white MoonSwatch straps and shown honestly in the photos. If you want it factory-fresh, replacement straps are cheap and plentiful (official Swatch and quality aftermarket, typically £15–25) — but the original is included as supplied.
• Case & bezel: very good condition; Bioceramic wears well and the case presents cleanly.
• Movement: a brand-new battery has just been fitted and the chronograph has been re-calibrated, so all chrono hands reset perfectly to zero. Running perfectly and keeping accurate time; chronograph start/stop/reset tested and working as they should.
