Terms & Conditions · v1-2026-06-19

Selling your item to Loota

Please read these terms — you agree to them when you accept an offer and send us your item. They explain how the offer works, what happens on arrival, and the rules if the item isn't as described.

⚠️ Draft for review — to be finalised with a solicitor before launch. Placeholders in [brackets].

1. The offer

The price we quote is an estimate based on the details you give us. It is not final until we have received and inspected the item. By accepting an offer you confirm that the information you provided (model, specification and condition) is accurate and honest, and that you are the legal owner with the right to sell it.

2. A binding agreement

When you accept an offer and send us the item, you enter a binding contract with Loota on these terms. We provide prepaid tracked postage (and, where offered, packaging) at our cost on that basis.

3. Inspection on arrival

When your item arrives we inspect and test it. If it matches your description, we pay the quoted amount to your nominated account, normally within [2] working days of inspection. If it does not match (different model/spec, undisclosed fault, damage, or a lock/blacklist we couldn't see), we will email you a revised offer.

4. Revised offers

You may accept the revised offer (we pay you the revised amount) or decline it. You have [7] days from our revised-offer email to respond.

5. Returns & return postage

If you decline a revised offer, we will return your item to you. Because the original postage (and any packaging) was provided on the basis of an accurate description, return postage of [£X] is payable by you, in advance, before we ship the item back. This is a genuine cost of return, not a penalty. We will tell you the exact amount and how to pay it.

6. Uncollected items

If you do not pay the return postage or respond to our revised offer within [14] days of our written notice, we will send you a final notice giving you a further reasonable period (at least [14] days) to pay and arrange return. If we still receive no payment or response, we may sell the item to recover our reasonable costs under the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977, accounting to you for any surplus after our costs. We would rather return your item — this only applies if it becomes genuinely uncollected.

7. Ownership

Ownership of the item passes to Loota once we have paid you the agreed (or revised, accepted) amount. Until then it remains yours and we hold it on your behalf.

8. Data & resetting your device

Before sending, please back up and remove all your data and sign out of any accounts (e.g. iCloud / Find My, Google, Microsoft). We cannot accept a device that is still locked to an account — it cannot be reset or resold. On receipt we securely erase devices (certified wipe) but you are responsible for removing your own data and account locks first.

9. Items we can't buy

We cannot purchase items that won't power on (we can't verify them), are locked to an account, or are reported lost/stolen or blacklisted. Attempting to sell stolen goods is a criminal offence; we may report and cooperate with the police and Royal Mail as required.

10. Your data

We process your details (including encrypted bank details, used only to pay you) in line with our [Privacy Policy]. Bank details are deleted after payment and any dispute window; submission photos are deleted when your case is closed.
